Rehabilitation Therapies

Rehabilitation Therapies is a full service provider of rehabilitation therapy and management services in skilled, long-term, outpatient, and in-home care environments. Our highly skilled and experienced physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapists work together to ensure that patients return to the highest possible level of function.

Our mission is to promote health and wellness for our residents. We provide preventative and restorative health services to improve the quality of life of all we serve. We strive to accomplish this mission through our fundamental core values of integrity, dignity, respect, and fun.



Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy promotes the health and function of the individual through examination, treatment, instruction, and activities designed to prevent, correct, compensate for, and ease pain resulting from injury, physical disability, or disease. Our goal is to restore each patient to his or her highest possible level of function.

Our dynamic, professional staff deals with residents who:

  • Are recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, burns, and other wounds
  • Experience pain or weakness as a result of illness, accidents, or conditions such as arthritis
  • Suffer from neurological damage such as stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and head injury

Our physical therapists and physical therapist assistants are all licensed professionals. They will evaluate and develop a customized treatment plan for each patient. The treatment may include:

  • Therapeutic exercise programs to help increase muscle function, coordination, endurance, and mobility
  • Gait and functional training to facilitate safety and independence
  • Heat, cold, and electrotherapy for reduction of pain and increased mobility
  • Hydrotherapy or electrical stimulation for wound care and circulatory disorders
  • Muscle re-education to regain function
  • Joint and soft tissue mobilization to increase mobility
  • Equipment prescription, fitting, and training to maximize functional abilities


Occupational Therapy

As part of our complete rehabilitation effort, we provide Occupational Therapy to many of our residents. Some people who benefit from Occupational Therapy include those who:

  • Are recovering from stroke or other neurologically based dysfunctions
  • Have orthopedic conditions, including arthritis and hip fracture
  • Have symptoms of multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's Disease
  • Have limitations in their ability to carry out self-care activities
  • Have strength or endurance risks
  • Will benefit from special adaptive equipment to aid in reaching a maximum level of independence

Our Occupational Therapy program is goal-oriented, and aims to help individuals adapt and reach their maximum level of independence. Examples of Occupational Therapy services include:

  • Education and training in daily living skills such as dressing, bathing, eating, and grooming
  • Sensorimotor treatments for strengthening, endurance, range of motion, coordination, and balance
  • Therapeutic activities for memory, orientation, cognitive integration, and other daily life skills
  • Perceptual testing and training to maximize functional abilities
  • Fabrication of splints to provide proper positioning, control spasticity, and reduce edema or pain
  • Recommendations for adaptive equipment to increase functional abilities during activities of daily living


Speech-Language Therapy

Speech-Language Therapy specializes in the recovery of speech, language, and swallowing functions. Licensed Speech-Language Pathologists provide a variety of services designed to assist people in the development of effective communication and swallowing skills.

Therapeutic treatment is designed to improve one or more of the following:

  • Patient comprehension
  • Verbal and non-verbal communication, including use of augmentative systems when necessary
  • Cognitive status, including memory, orientation, and reasoning skills
  • Oral muscle strength and functioning for both speaking and swallowing
  • Swallowing skills


Respiratory Therapy

Respiratory Therapy focuses on the care and treatment of patients whose ability to breathe has been compromised through lifestyle, disease, or accident. Our Respiratory Therapies include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessment and diagnostic evaluation
  • Establishment and maintenance of artificial airways
  • Therapeutic use and monitoring of oxygen
  • Bronchial hygiene therapy
  • Atomizer and nebulae therapies, as prescribed
  • Breathing retraining and patient education
  • In-service staff training
